Sept 2005. We sent £250 to the Amani Centre in Tanzania, through the Lochwinnoch support group. This centre provides a large service to disabled people.

Sept 2005. We gave £250 to Lochwinnoch Singers’ fund-raising campaign for the charity Hope and Homes for Children which brings aid to Kosovo.

Sept 2005. £250 went to a Glasgow project to send a container full of books to a reading scheme in Eastern Cape province, South Africa. It included a load of books from Lochwinnoch.

November 2005. We gave £1000 for earthquake relief in Pakistan, to Manir (the local paper shop) to pass on. It was used for tents, blankets and other basic supplies.

November 2005. We gave £500 to Practical action to provide 6 solar lights for the village of Masari in Kenya so they don’t have to burn precious wood to light their homes at night, and suffer from smoke inhalation.

Feb 12006. We gave £200 to the parents of a local person. Marcello Dominguez, to help them in their work feeding the poor children in Buenos Aries [Argentina suffered an massive economic collapse in 2001 and had no social security system to help the 20% unemployed]
